Our son is in the 10th grade and has been struggling with school for about 2 years now. He is a lazy student and just didn't care about school. He felt all his classes were boring and not important. He started not doing well in school and it affected his self esteem and confidence. We tried to work with him, but he resisted even more. The school tried to work with him, but that failed as well. I called Tutoring Unlimited because I saw Michele's picture and blog in the newspaper and talked with her about our son and what we should do. We were glad the tutor would come to our house because our son is very shy and didn't want to go somewhere else.

The first few times it was a little rough, and he gave us a hard time and told us we were wasting our money. Our tutor was great at getting him to focus and encouraged him with a strong hand. He is doing much better in a couple of his classes that he was failing in. He finally admitted that the tutor has helped him and he seems to want to do better in school. Sometimes parents can't get anywhere with their kids, so it is better to get an outside person who will challenge and encourage them.
